
David Gelcky a photojournalist who worked with America national public radio and Zabihullah Tamana Afghan photographer have
lost their lives in Helmand. Yesterday Gelcky & Tamana with a group of American journalists including American military journalists working with national radio of America Tom Bauman and one of the producer of this radio Monica Avstatyva were traveling to Marja district in a military convoy when their car been attacked by the Taliban.
The vehicle of Gelcky and Tamana (personnel armored car) exploded on impact of Taliban rocket and these two journalists lost their lives with their driver in this incident but their colleagues who were in another car have survived.
In the current khurshidi year this is the first incident which two journalists are losing their lives but after the era of Taliban and new government more than 60 journalists have lost their lives including 10 foreign journalists in different locations of Afghanistan at different kind of incidents.
David Gelcky was 50 years old and Zabihullah Taman 38 years old.
