Today, February 13, 2018 corresponding to 25/ 11/ 1396 Hijri is the World Radio Day.
Radio was used as an instrument for communication and dissemination of information for the first time in late nineteenth century. The first radio station in Afghanistan however was not established before 1920.
In modern Afghan history especially in the last half a century, radio has been the most common instrument for receiving and dissemination of information in the country.
Based on the information from Ministry of Information and Culture, 432 radio stations are currently active in Afghanistan.
The officials of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU) offer their congratulations on the occasion of World Radio Day to all media personnel especially those who work in radio stations.
