After amendment of some articles in Mass Media Law by the house of representatives, some Journalistic unions and NGOs representatives by visiting the Senate requested the rejections of amendments.
Last week, The House of representatives approved the amendments of three articles in Mass Media Law which was proposed by Ministry of Information and Culture.
IF the amendment be passed by the Senate and signed by the president, the Commission for inquiry of Media violation will found its legality after maintaining illegal for four consecutive years by Minister of Information and Culture.
Media activists by showing their grievances for this act of House of representatives, believes that members of House of representatives should not allow an illegal structure to become legal.
In yesterday’s meeting, a number of media activists expressed their anxiety to some presidents and assistants of Senate committees against the illegal behavior of Information and culture minister. On other hands, the legitimacy of media violations commission makes the Minister of Information and Culture to put pressure on a number of specific Media.
Senate members present at the meeting emphasized that the House of representatives were not careful on amendment and promised that they will preciously investigate the issue.
Also some of House of representatives members continues contacts to Senate and emphasized that the amendment mysteriously passed by the House of representative and request Senators to reject the amendments.
In yesterday’s meeting Media activists while appreciating the support of Senators, says that if the Senate needs detailed information about the issue they are ready to discuss it even in front of Information and culture ministry representatives.
Faheem Dashty, chief executive of Afghanistan's National Journalists Union said yesterday in the meeting that we were expecting House of representatives to disqualify the minister of information and culture for its regular violations of the Media law, but opposite to it, he has given marks and his taste of demands gets legal action.
Dashty also included:" our expectation from the senate is to review all the documents on this regard and the issue should be solved by considering the request of Journalists community of the country.
