
The first General Assembly of Afghanistan's National Journalists Union was launched in Kabul today. One- Hundred and Twenty representatives and members of
ANJU from Heart, Kandahar, Helmand, Dyikondi, Bameyan, Ghor, Wardak, Paktiya, Khost, Nengarhar, Parwan, Kapisa, Panjshir, Baghlan, Kundoz, Takhar, Badakhshan, Samangan, Balkh, Ghor provinces and 200 members from Kabul City were present in this gathering.
Based on the pre-planned outline of ANJU for this gathering, in First day of the meeting ANJU’s constitution which was approved in 1382 for the last time, was reviewed and after some major modifications was approved by majority of members present at the meeting.
In the afternoon session of the meeting, the Code of conducts for members of this union was adopted for the first time in the history of this institution.
Today’s meeting, which was supervised by General Chairman of the union Mr. Abdul Hamid Mubariz based on constitution of the union.
After speeches of UNAMA and “Friedrich Ebert Foundation" representatives Mr. Faeeim Dashty presented 14-month activities report of ANJU, and also offered a detailed plan for the next years of the union to the participants in the meeting.
In the second day of the meeting, 40 people will be elected for the High Council of the Union. IEC and FIFA representatives have also been invited to organize and supervise the election.
On the 3rd day of the meeting the role of professional journalists in the presidential elections will be debated while the representatives of Independent Election Commission, FIFA and Afghanistan Journalist’s Federation will be present in the meeting.
