Today May 3, is the World Press Freedom Day.
Journalists and media workers celebrated the World Press Freedom Day over the grave of Shaheed Abudlmanan Arghand in Kandahar province.
The journalists in this province ended the boycott on government related news. According to these journalists, public needs to know daily news. Therefore as a result of this tremendous public need, they ended the boycott on government related news. Meanwhile these journalists expect the government to take serious measures to ensure the security of journalists. They also emphasized that the government and international organizations should have constant assistance with the families of martyred journalists.
Mr. Abdulmanan Arghand a journalist for Kabul News agency had been gunned down by unidentified gunmen a while ago.
