Pursuing of culture minister's violation of law through Supreme Court

This afternoon, a number of media representatives had a meeting with Mr. Bahuddin Baha, member of supreme court  high council and set forth their complaints in relation to Mr Saied Makhdom RaheensTMinister of Information and culture  violation of laws. In this meeting  Faheem Dashty  executivedirextor of ANJU, Mr. Ekhpolwak Sapi head of independent journalists union and Mr. Mortazawi  of 8.AM daily paper were present.

Written grievances letters concerning minister of culture's violation of laws were presented to the  Mr.Baha, similarly long discussions took place between participants as to details of foregoing law breakings by minister of culture.

Faheem Dashty  head of ANJU stressed that currently the  core demand of media, journalists and syndicate entities in support of journalists is full enforcement of mass media laws. He urged that " we kindly request the Supreme Court to put in motion a speedy and rigid investigation in connection to minister of culture violation of law".

Mr. Sapi also indicated  that the culture of continuation of law violation must not be allowed anymore in our country. He likewise expressed utmost gratitude for one of supreme courts High council member  to lend ear to their complaints. He concluded that" we would not like to implore for any privileges from the ministry, thus our main demand is pure execution of mass media prevailing laws".

Mr. Bahuddin Bah promised that he will convey the propounded complaints to the Supreme Court  high council meeting and will also communicate to the ministry of culture as regards the issues. 

Repeated violation of law by Minister In past three years are counted as follows:

> Prevention of National Radio and Television to function as an independent media entity short of ministry of culture.

> In lieu of allowing two mass media representatives, he has assigned two favorite illegal individuals to media high council, where it is an unlawful act grounded on media laws.

> Media complaints commission which was formed based on previous mass media law should have been replaced with Mass Media Commission as per new abiding law of mass media as now, but still continues to illegally function.

In the meeting with Mr. Bah, representatives journalists gave info in regards to previous sessions that they had with different commissions of senate and lower house of parliament  and substantiated that they would also have like meeting with the president and propound their demands with him.
