
A meeting was held today between Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU) and other media agencies namely Hasht-i-Sobh newspaper, Etelat-i-Roz newspaper, Arman-i-Mili newspaper, Payk Investigative Journalism Center, Salam Watandar Radio, Azadi Radio, Pazhwak news agency, IWPR Investigative Journalism agency, Kahkashan media center, Masir newspaper, Heart of Asia newspaper, Saar Radio, Hoshdar media agency, and Nai media agency in ANJU headquarters.
In this meeting, the creation of cooperative and coordinative culture among media of Afghanistan was discussed. ANJU proposed a pre-planned proposal for cooperation in a special administrative system framework for the participants. Fortunately, the proposal was agreed upon by all media agencies.
This proposal in the form of an agreement states the terms on which the participating media agencies can cooperate and coordinate with each other, especially in conducting investigative reports. ANJU as a coordinating body among participants shall observe the implementation of the agreement of this cooperation among these media agencies.
This program shall be open for other media agencies to participate as well. Other media can also join this program and there are no objections for their participation from current member agencies.
Meanwhile in the present circumstances in the media family of Afghanistan, among other important issues, the coordination and cooperation among media agencies are of utmost significance. As matter of fact, the culture of cooperation and coordination among media agencies ensures its positive impact on society and guarantees the survival of Afghan media family.
