Launch of one-day seminar in Helmand regarding law of accessing to information.

Late last week, the office of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union in Helmand province in collaboration with the office of Information and Culture of Helmand province and office of Independent Commission for Human Rights held a one-day seminar about law of accessing to the information.

The participants of the seminar beside obtaining the copy of the law access to the information, also discussed on the provision of any of this Act.

Farid Ahmad Farhang the cultural adviser of the government of Helmand Said: Access to the information is one of the most crucial principle of freedom of expression, and the government departments of Helmand province will respect this law in all aspects and try their best to implement it.

Ali Shah Mazlomyar, head of information and culture of Helmand province while informing of law to access the information, said: the commission which the Ministry of Information and Culture also has membership here, they will try their best that access to the information law fully met in this province.

Aziz Ahmad Shafie, a member of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union on behalf of journalists has membership in this commission, the rest of the members of this commission has been selected based on the rule of law to access information by the government departments and civil society of helmand province, but still the internal selection has not held on selection of this commission’s leader.
