Partaw Nadiri: My arrest warrant, from Attorney General Office, is illegal

Sunday February 10, 2013

Mr. Partaw Nadiri, whose arrest warrant has been issued by attorney general office day’s before, considers the arrest warrant illegal and says that he would never be presented at attorney general office.

In a press conference which was held by Afghanistan National Journalists’ Union (ANJU) in its main office today, Mr. Nadiri insisted that the attorney general should conduct inquiries on Mr. Dawood Ali Najafi, the Minister of Transport and Aviation, instead of arresting him.

Mr. Sayad M. Ali Rezwani the spokesperson of ANJU, who was answering the journalists questions during the press conference, presented ANJU’s position regarding Mr. Nadiri’s case as follows:

“If some people are going to be arrested regarding this case, first of all those should be arrested who have accused Mr. Najafi. If their accusation is right, then, Mr. Najafi should be presented in court. Meanwhile Mr. Asadullah Wafa the head of Presidential Complaint’s Bureau should be questioned for letting the documents to be leaked and cause such controversial case.”

Mr. Rezwani once again insisted on cancellation of illegal Media Violations Investigation Commission which is always criticized by ANJU and other organizations, and he added: “according to the Mass Media Law until the Mass Media Commission is not established, and until the Minister of Information and Culture has unlawfully maintained the ‘Media Violations Investigation Commission’ such controversial cases would be raised sometimes.”

Attorney General Office has issued Mr. Nadiri’s arrest warrant according to the Minister of Transport’s request.

In an article titled “who is going to choose next President” Mr. Nadiri has criticized Najafi’s quotation who once said “I made Hamed Karzai President; otherwise, Dr. Abdullah would be the President”.

The article is published in Arman Mili daily newspaper.

The accusation of Mr. Najafi’s claims about the results of previous elections has been mentioned in a letter of Presidential Complaint’s Bureau to the High Office of Supervision on Implementation of Strategy of Campaign against Corruption. In this letter Najafi is accused of other crimes like bribery, embezzlement and even murder as well.

Mr. Dawood Ali Najafi has denied all the accusations and insisted that there some people who want to damage my personality.
