More than 10 female participants of various media outlets completed a one-day training session conducted in Afghanistan National Journalists Union (ANJU).
The session was conducted in Kabul to train the participants on digital safety measures, safety procedures, anti-violence and anti-sexual harassment policy.
“Raising awareness of male and female journalists on safety measures and safety procedures is of utmost important issue in such an insecure environment. For this reasons, ANJU published a guideline last year on the same theme. Also, the institution trained journalists practically and theoretically on how to best implement the contents of its guideline.” Per ANJU authorities.
In the meantime, Safety Committee of Journalists has mentioned in a report published recently that 69 percent of female journalists are at the risk of physical and sexual harassments.
Therefore, ANJU is committed to convey the contents of its guideline through a learning framework to as much journalists as possible.
