In a meeting organized on Wednesday, March 13, 2019 financial assistance was provided to seven journalists by Journalists Support Fund (JSF). Out of seven, two of them were female journalists, while two others were invited from the provinces.
JSF, initially, received 15 requests for financial support through various institutions and individuals, however, after an enquiry and consideration of the submitted documents, the management recognized 7 Journalists eligible to receive financial aid.
The total supported amount for all seven reached to 450,000 in local currency which is equivalent to 6000 US Dollars with exchange rate of 75 AFS per USD.
The JSF, currently works on developing a platform where such aids are expanded to cover the families of martyred Journalists.
Considering the statistics on hand, 110 Journalists have been died ruthlessly including 20 foreign Journalism since 2001. Therefore, JSF is working on an information bank where all required information regarding the 90 martyred local Journalists is collected and based on this information, the platform will be finalized where the assistance will be provided to their families and remainings.
