Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU) facilitates commemoration of Afghan National Journalists Day in Helmand, Uruzgan, Faryab, Ghor, and Badghis.
Every single event brought high ranking government officials, representatives of provincial council, university lecturers, representatives of civil society, local journalists, and local media outlets together under one roof to celebrate this day.
Meanwhile, some of the journalists received appreciation awards by ANJU. This series of events were launched after the cabinet of National Unity Government in one of its meeting approved the proposal of media agencies to mark March 18, 2019 as the National Journalists Day in the country. Thus, it received wide spread celebration.
