Moby Media Group which covers Tolo TV, Tolo News, Lemar, Radio Arman, and Arakozia; shared their management and human resources policies to the relevant government authorities as well as the federation of media organizations, through an initiative

The event which was conducted in Tolo News, gathered senior government officials including deputy minister of work and social affairs, and deputy minister of information and culture ministry. Also, senior members of the federation as well as some other media agencies participated in the event.

According to the code of conduct, and laws of the government, every single media organization is required to develop and implement institutional capacity building initiatives based on national and international standards. These policies should ensure proper working environment and employee rights for all their staff. It may include but not limited to contracting and other issues.

In the meeting, a sample of the contract was shared with the participants. This sample was developed completely based on the country’s laws for work and as well as based on their own policies.

Employees leave policy of Moby Media Group was also developed based on the law. Also, to build and promote the capacity of its employees, the Group contributes 50% in the fees of those employees who can do an on-job educational degree.

Also, a specific policy was explained to the participants which was developed for those employees who get injured or killed while in duty. As for injured ones, the complete cost of treatment is paid by the Group. Also, a financial assistance for nine years, is provided for the remaining’s of those who are killed while in duty.

At the end of the ceremony, both deputy ministers expressed their satisfaction regarding this unique gathering. And both seemed happy and the work laws are being implemented in Moby Media Group.

The federation of media organizations asked both deputy ministers to implement such institutional policies in all media organizations to ensure the rights of employees who are working with the media outlets. As these policies are necessary to resolve the issues and challenges of media activists, including contracts, pension rights, insurance and the rest of incentives.

It is worth noting that the federation last week requested H.E. the President to conduct such events in the presence of government authorities.
