Afghanistan’s National Journalist’s Union (ANJU) launches office in Bamyan. ANJU oversees its field offices in various provinces from the headquarters in the capital. According to the provincial manager of ANJU in Bamyan Ishaq Akrami, there is no active agency in support of media and journalists in Bamyan. Thus, he highlights the event as a significant event in which the first media and journalists supporting agency in Bamyan establishes its office. The speakers of this event included Muhammad Asif Muballigh, deputy governor, Ismail Zaki, coordinator of civil society and human rights in Bamyan, Ahmad Hussain Ahmadpor, director of information and culture, and Abbas Nadiri one of the local journalists. It is worth noting that ANJU established its central office in 1979 and since then it has actively been involved in supporting media and empowering over 2000 journalists who are members of the union. Also, it has 22 active members in Bamyan.
