Kandahar celebrates World Press Freedom Day

In an event, which gathered local authorities as well as local journalists and reporters of Kandahar, World Press Freedom Day was celebrated. This event was organized by the joint efforts of Afghanistan’s National Journalists’ Union (ANJU), local press club, and NAI. At the start of the ceremony, the sacrifices of last year’s incident were praised by the participants. Afterwards, the event progressed on the importance of a free press, and its challenges in the country. The lack of access to information, and political pressure highlighted as main challenges.


At the end, certification letters distributed to last year’s successful journalists of the province.
