Mohammad Gulab Ibrahimi director of Radio Karoon Ghak (Voice of Karoon) has been beaten by the police of Laghman.
Yesterday Mr. Ibrahimi while trying to cover the aid distribution program of Qatar state in the occasion of Ramadan in the city of Mehtar Lam in Laghman province was beaten by the police officials.
According to Ibrahimi first the police officer prevented him from entering the aid distribution area than when he said I’m journalists and I have to prepare report from the distribution program, he has been beaten by police and his camera been destroyed.
Shamsul Rahman Shams representative of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union says that ince the beginning of this year, it’s the third event of violence against journalists from the security officials.
Officials of ANJU in Kabul says they couldn’t establish to contact with chief police of Laghman, but MoI officials in Kabul have promised that they will investigate the issue.
