Meeting of the Supreme Council of the Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union held on Saturday; November, 13. 2012.
In this session, twenty-five (25) out of thirty-eight (38) members of the Supreme Council attended and adopted important decision about the Afghanistan National Journalists Union’s future that includes:
- Of the number of members of the Supreme Council of the Union newly invited to the event in which it was decided; 38 new members that are on the list of the new Supreme Council of the Union, should hold their duties and responsibilities of the Council, in accordance with the existing, explicitly until the National Union Congress adopts the new statute.
- In this session, it was also decided to invite more elite journalists from the country, especially from the provinces, in such an event to join the council as member.
- In this session, after a brief presentation of three months’ report of executive council activities, there was discussion on today’s event agenda.
The following decisions were taken;
- To re-check the Union’s statute and drafting of an article for the statute, a committee with the following composition created:
- Mohammad Abdullah
- Rahmatullah Beegana
- Mohammad Anwar Urzgani
- Merza Mohammad Karamat
- Sanjar Sohail
- To review the criteria of Union’s member, a committee with the following selection established:
- Shafiaqa Habibi
- Noor Rahman Akhlaqi
- Meer Mohammad Sediq Zaliq
- Sayed Mohammad Ali Razawi
- Hashmatullah Rad Far
- Mohammad Sami Sahiem
- To hold national congress of the Union, a committee was set up with this combination:
- Mohammad Fahim Dashti
- Najiba Ayubi
- Meer Haidar Mutahar
- Abdul Bari Salam
- Farah Marz Seena
- To create or to expand the provincial offices of the union, a committee was created with the following composition:
- Sediq ullah Tawhidi
- Mohammad Sediq Ahmad zada
- Bashir Ahmad Bejhan
- Hamid Abidi
- Mohammad Fahim Kohdamani
- Khair ullah Bashar Dost
- Mohammad Zareen
- To review for sustainable financial expenses, monitoring committee on the Union’s financial expenses was created with following combination:
- Najiba Ayubi
- Noor Rahman Akhlaqi
After committee establishment, the Supreme Council of the Union decided to introduce the absent members of the council in the created committees.
Present members of the Council in the meeting also decided that the Union should accept members of civil society organizations, academic personalities, and governmental officers who work closely with the media in the country, as volunteers.
- To meet the budget of the Union, Supreme council decided in the meeting that:
- Of all the members of the union should pay fair monthly membership premium.
- The high-ranked members of the Supreme Council obligated to pay monthly premium higher than the ordinary union’s members.
- With different media networks, it should be contacted and demand up to supply the budget of the Union if they wish to contributes.
- After voting among the members of the Supreme council on the monthly premium payment, the result showed that all presented members were agree accept Ms. Najila Ayubi.
- At the thirteenth session of the Afghanistan National Journalists Union held on November 13, 2012, most of the vote showed agreement on the agenda discussed in the event.
