Saturday August 31, 2019

Given the importance of covering the various stages of the election, the Afghanistan National Journalists Union (ANJU), in cooperation with the European Election Support Centre and funded by the European Union, has prepared a guide for media and journalists in Farsi – Dari, and Pashto language.

In this guidelines incorporates various election-related topics. Given the international experience about elections and also the current condition of the country, some recommendations have been provided to Afghanistan media and journalists.

We expect that with the widespread dissemination of these useful guidelines and professional training programs that will be held in Kabul and some other provinces, media and journalists will be able to play a more professional role in the news coverage of the upcoming presidential election. We believe that more professional coverage of election events, on the one hand, help voters to choose their preferred candidates and, on the other hand, help to create a more transparent and legal environment at different stages of the election.

The Afghanistan National Journalists Union (ANJU) wants from media and all journalists to carefully consider this guidance in the news coverage of the upcoming presidential election. Also, Journalists and media workers can obtain this guidance soft copy from the following links that will prepare in Persian, Pashto, and English languages.
