In recently events causing for journalists and media agencies in different corners of the country brings new concerns.
Attack on a radio in Jalalabad city which happened today, beaten of a journalist in Laghman by police officer which happened yesterday and dead of two journalists in Helmand province makes new concerns for the media and media activists.
ANJU by understanding all security concerns in the country requests the security institutes of the country to use more effort to ensure the security and safety of journalists and media institutes in the country.
In other side, today, the MoI prohibited the flying cameras used by the media agencies based on the National Security Council.
The reason behind prohibited of using the flying cameras by the MoI understand is that it will create security problems.
ANJU has announced that due to specific conditions of security in the country, they might need to prohibit the using of these cameras in limited and specific areas.
We request the government to support media support and advocacy agencies and issue a temporary instruction, so in one side the media agencies use these flying cameras and secondly these flying cameras should create any security problems.
ANJU value on media freedom in the country as a matter of principle and respect for all elements emphasized on all security institutes and requests them that no individuals and entities should prevent these activities in the country.
