
The case of violence against journalists which were known for legal follow ups have been sent to its relevant institutions.
In early Hoot 1394 per requested of Afghanistan journalist and media federation, the president issued a decree to establish a committee to follow up the violence cases against the journalists and media workers.
After the issuance of decree in conference of justice and ministry council under the administrative of Mohammad Sarwar Danish the second vice president was held in his office, they were decided to form a commission to pursue the cases of violation against journalists and media workers.
This committee started on 18 Hoot in participation of prosecutor general, national directorate of security, ministry of information and culture, MoI and representative of journalist federation of Afghanistan.
Par the committee’s review of 679 cases of violence which included 60 cases of murder, 46 case of injury, 222 cases of beating, 84 cases of arrest, 29 kidnapped and 238 cases of verbal and threats insult and violence, because of overtime and lack of access to the legal norms to detective agencies, judicial suspects related to terrorist groups, 252 cases of alleged were ignored.
According to the committee, the remaining 401 cases including 427 case to the MoI and NDS have been followed and their necessary documents to defend the cases should be completed, 7 other cases which their documents are already completed should be review by the prosecution, 18 other cases which their accusers are foreign militaries, they should be followed up by MoFA with coordination with NATO general command the other one case which is already finalized by by general prosecutor should be handed over to supreme court.
Today in a press conference the officials of journalists and media federation of Afghanistan announced that the documents related to these cases which have been called important by the mentioned institutions will be prepared and sent today by them.
Mujeeb Khelwatgar one of the member of this federation said; as per the promises of president made last week with journalists, we expect a proper timing to investigate these cases and give its results to journalists’ federation and by this federation the results should be made public.
According to Fahim Dashty, the other official of the federation, the national unity government is better compared to the previous government and they has given promises to follow up these cases and finally we have hope that the perpetrators of violence will be brought in justice.
