Declaration of ANJU in connection to Subpoena of chief editors of Arman Millie and Hasht-e-Subh, daily newspapers, by Attorney General.
Chief editors of Arman Millie and Hasht-e-Subh, daily newspapers have been summoned by Attorney General office for investigation.
The Hast-e-Subh daily newspaper have been investigated regarding the publication of a report series No:1616, dated 13 March 2013, entitled" Afghanistan mines are being looted" and Arman Millie chief editor have been investigated for the publication of an article entitled" Smuggling of 20 Kg white gold from Kabul international Airport."
Following the referral of Kabul international Airport authorities, complaint to Attorney General office for the revealing of mentioned reports,Chief editor of Arman Millie was summoned and investigated where its contradict to media Law And Hasht-e-Subh chief editor after minister of mines complaint to Attorney General office.
per 43 Article of Media law if there is a criminal case mass media commission could refer to Justice and Judiciary institutions. In both case of the two daily newspapers( Arman Millie and Hasht-e-Subh) their cases have not been handled legally. Despite, the passage of four years from implementation of media law, the mass media commission has not been formed, and this is the minister of culture himself who has prevented the implement media law.
There for ANJU had the following demands which must accept by Attorney General Office.
> both of the daily newspapers cases should be suspended
> the Attorney General authorities should not permit high government officials to exert pressure on these cases
> the cases of these two daily newspapers should be maintained
