Winner of Brave Journalist Prize faced violence by parliament security personnel
Akbar Rustami, Hasht-e-Subh reporter was hurt and insulted by Parliament security-officers, while he wanted to interview two members of cultural commission of the parliament.
Rustami and representatives of Hash-e-Subh daily , states that the reporter identity card, ANJU membership card, and special entrance card of Parliament that Rustami was carrying with himself has been torn by Parliament security personnel.
Rustami said that, one of the parliament security officers by the name Fazlurahman confronted me with violent behavior and told me “get lost from here and go write whatever you want to”.
ANJU is opposed to any sort of injustices, violence and offense against Journalists, and strongly condemns the aggressive behavior of the Parliament Security guard.
ANJU, would directly contact Parliament security authorities in this regards to verify that the aggressor against Akbari is related which Afghan Security Agency (MOI or NDS), We would also speak to relevant entity, and also demand for chastisement of aggressor.
Akbar Rustami is the reporter whom with his investigative reports and hot discussions related to land mafia and mines pillages; indeed he instigated and has disappointed the land mafia and mines looters.
Recently Akbari was awarded the brave Journalist prize of "Ajmal Naghshbandi" from Afghanistan' National Journalists Union (ANJU) and NIA supporting Media in Afghanistan.
