On welcoming the release of Mr. Sakhi Zada

Azizurahman Sakhi Zada, Mandegar Daily Newspaper columnist, that have been arrested by Kabul Police based on an Attorney General decree two weeks before, was released today afternoon. 

Journalist support institutions along with civil society organizations conducted serious and continuous efforts in order to release Sakhi Zada during last two weeks that finally caused Sakhi Zada’s release from detention center by direct order of President Karzai. 

Afghanistan's National Journalists Union (ANJU) Thanks President Karzai while appreciating Sakhi Zada’s release from detention. 

ANJU also expresses its gratitude to all people and organizations for their attempts regarding Sakhi Zada’s freedom and insists that only cooperation and joint efforts for ensuring media freedom and freedom of speech can be result full. 

Mr. Sakhi Zada was arrested based on a complaint of Head of Anti-bribery and Corruption Administration, Azizullah Ludeen. Prior to that in a critique which was published in Mandegar Daily Newspaper, Sakhi Zada had revealed corruption in anti-bribery and Corruption Administration.
