Support Officials of Tanweer TV Channel
From last Sunday, After Two of the TanweerLocal TV Channel Journalists were beaten up in Center of Baghlan Province in Poli-e Khomri City, the officials of Tanweer Local TV Channel have been encountering with intensive pressures.
While the officials of the local TV Channel have been trying to apply the laws on people who attacked on Journalists, some of the governmental officials who are members of one family and relatives of attackers have been using their governmental authorities to put pressure on local TV Channel in Baghlan Province.
In a letter which is sent by the Director of Tanweer Local TV Channel, Sher Mohammad Jahesh, to Civil Society Institutions particularly to the Journalists Union on Friday 2/Aug/2013, he is asking for support.
In the letter, there is complaint about one of the Judges, one of the Chief of Justice Institution, one of the Police Officials and another security Institution official. since the mentioned officials have family relationship with the attackers, now they have been conspiring and preparing criminal cases for the Tanweer Local TV Channel Officials.
ANJUis chasing the incidents closely from the first day of the case till now. ANJU officials had contacts by sending official letters, making Phone calls and holding face to face meetings with the officials of Interior Ministry, Ministry of Information and Culture, National Security Directorate, Attorney General Office andAfghanistan Independent Human Rights Commission in the past days.
In addition, ANJU have been in constant contact with the Security Officials of Baghlan Province so the case is resolved based on Afghanistan laws and fairly.
Now Tanweer Local TV Channel Director has been under more intensive pressures and he is asking for more supports, hereby ANJUasks all individuals, groups and institutions who struggle to insure freedom for citizens, especially those who struggle for freedom of speech, to support Tanweer TV Channel officials in their just lawsuit.
ANJU once again, demands the justice and security institutions to consider Tanweer TV Channel problem in accordance with Afghanistan applicable laws.
