Clash of Police and a Reporter in Bamyan.

Ashaq Akrami report of killid local radio in Bamyan has been beaten allegedly by the police. According to Akrami, when he wanted to picture a clash involving police, he has been abused.

Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union has contacted the Bamyan police headquarter to determine the reason behind this event.

Police officials of Bamyan says that to establish a discipline among the police officers and control them, they have established mobile police patrol in the city of Bamyan in order to prevent such events of police officers in the city.

Abdul Mubeen, Chief of Bamyan’s Police, while he himself was present at the scene, adds: we wanted to take up irregularities of police first field office personnel, during this process Mr. Akrami was photographing the scene and has been prevented by a police officer and I personally prevented the event from going further.

While Mr. Akrami said he was beaten by police, the Bamyan police chief said that there was no beating of such case, and at earliest opportunity, he will invite the offending soldier and Mr. Akrami in his office and address Mr. Akrami’s Complain.

Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union while knows any violence against journalists and media activist against the law, expects from security forces to abstain from violence while dealing with reporters.

Mr. Faheem Dashty, head of the Union said: As soon as he got information about this incident, has contact both Mr. Akrami and Bamyan police headquarter, according to Dashty; as of Union’s intervenes, the complain of Mr. Akrami suppose to be addressed in a speedy way.
