The parliamentary affairs of the government have sent letter to several newspaper of the country and asked their authorities to attend a meeting at commission of the religious and cultural affairs of the parliament and response regarding some of the article which are printing and or published by them.
Some of the media offices have sent letters to the Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union office and have requested for consultation and cooperation. Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union believes that as per the general media law, if there is any complaint of media content or publication, they need to address the violations and complaints to the commission who is dealing with on media complaints and following the issues.
The society expects the legislator of the country to respect the law not to break the law and never impact of illegal pay of the law. The Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union while giving advice to the media, has no responsibility to attend the meeting of commission for religious and cultural affair of the parliament, ANJU stress that the media is responsible to response and answer only to the commission of violations and complaints of the media affairs about their contents, not to any other authority.
We also reiterate our call to relevant institutions, the government state, ministry of information and culture and the parliament of Afghanistan according to the provisions of the act apply to the general media in case of any complains about the media content, they should refer to the commission of general media law to solve their problems and address through legislations.
