Fresh efforts to secure media activists.

The Ministry of Interior says, they have formed a special team to investigate the recent attacks on media activists and political analysts.

This group involves representatives of various security institutions and their main goal is to quickly collect and analyze the information against these attacks they have in hand.

According to MoI spokesman, formation of this group will be helpful to prevent the attempts against the life of media activists, political analysts and well-known people.

In recent weeks, there were several cases of attacks on the lives of media activists, analysts and well-known people, especially happened in Kabul city.

In the past few weeks, at least Seddiqullah Tawhidi director of NAI, Amanullah Attai director of Asia TV, Ahmad Saeedi, Tofan Waziry and Jawid Kohistani among Political analysts, Salim Wahdat owner of Bokhdi News and Nisar Ahmad Bahawi a well-known athletes of the country were the victims of these attacks which Mr. Attai lost his life, Nisar Ahmad Bahawi and Ahmad Saeedi injured and the others have been survived.

Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union while had concern of the situations, requested the security institutions to have more immunity for media activists and political analysts.

The officials of this union welcomes the government’s this new initiative “form of a special team” and are in contact with security institutions to include the representatives of journalists and journalists’ advocacies in this group to have a proper coordination in this field.
