Judicial Organizations should deal with journalists through legal channels.

After being summoned the 8 Sobh daily newspaper manager by the prosecutors, the broadcasting deputy,

Ministry of Information & Culture says this action is against the countries law. The manager of 8Sobh newspapers has been summoned after he published an article, which uncovered corruption in some government departments by the prosecutors three days ago.

This dealing of the prosecutors were seriously faced with media advocacies and unions reaction.

Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union criticized the dealing of prosecution department of Ministry of Information and Culture and called this action against the laws of the country.

Ministry of Information and Culture also called this action against the country’s law.

Yesterday, Saida Muzhgan Mostafa, broadcasting deputy of Ministry of Information and Culture told the media, based on the universal media law, in order to address the complaints and violation adopting in the field of media, the media commission has been established to investigate such violations.

Broadcasting deputy of Ministry of Information and Culture has also said that, summon and investigation of media reporters through the justice organizations are against the universal media law.

Commission on complaints and violations of the media, after the amendments in the law of general media about a month ago with member of an authorized representative of Independent Human Rights Commission, two representative from civil society organizations, two representative from journalist union, one law lawyer, representative of filmmaker union, dean of the journalism department of Kabul university, a jade scholer from Afghanistan Ulema Council and a representative of the Ministry of Information and Culture has been established and are responsible to address the media violations.
