
During the protests which were held today near the presidential palace, Ariana TV live broadcast was cut. TV officials says police officials of Kabul, prevent this TV to cover the live broadcast of the protests advocacy for victims of the recent incident in which seven passengers, including women and children were slaughtered by terrorists.
However, after nearly an hour and a half, Ariana TV live broadcasting began again, officials from Ariana TV complains against the Kabul police department due to cut-off their live broadcasting during the protest.
Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union, this behavior of Kabul police is against standards of freedom of expression and law in the country.
The officials of this Union say preventing of the people from accessing the information is illegal and the officials of ministry of interior should prosecute the perpetrators of cutting off the Ariana TV live broadcasting.
During the today’s protest, one of the TV reporter of Noor TV has injured lightly, The Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union expects the security institutions, in every possible manner to ensure the safety of journalists, especially during live news coverages.
