Kunduz displaced journalists are demanding investigation into their situation.

A press conference dated October 08, 2015 held in Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union, and the displaced journalists from Kunduz said about the problems they are experiencing. After recent clashes in Kunduz, a large number of active journalist who were working in Kunduz local media, national and international are forced to refuge in cities such as Kabul, Mazar-I-Sharif, Taloqan and Pulikhumri.

In the press conference held today, more than 25 of these journalists were attended and had complains about carelessness of the government about their situation and called for addressing their problems and requested immediate response to their problems.

Saber Yousefi news reporter of Deutsche Welle in Kunduz said; journalists in Kunduz has lost everything they had and have taken refuge in other provinces and require urgent assistance.

Zarghona Hassan owner of the local Medias of Kayhan and Shayesta was other speaker of the conference, according to Ms. Hassan, most of the Kunduz displaced journalists left the city with refuged to other cities are living in abnormal living situation.

In this press conference, the Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union official’s emphasis on the current problem of refuged journalists and requested the national and international institutions to help these journalists.

Mohammad Fahim Dashty, Executive director of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union said: according to the information we have in hand, more than 40 journalists to Kabul, about 20 journalists to Taloqan, more than 10 journalists to Mazar-I-Sharif and some of them are refuged to Pulikhumri city.

Dashty pointed to the assistances which are provided to the journalists till now, added: Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union and a number of other organizations that support journalists are provide assistance to the journalists which are not enough in any way, but we still seeking to get more support to our colleagues.

In addition to the displaced of journalists from Kunduz, office of more than 15 Kunduz local media stations were attacked by the Taliban and destroyed their equipment’s or stolen them.
