At the same time while the greater number of journalists and media activists leaving Kunduz, updated news about the scale of losses incurred to the local Medias of Kunduz has obtained. In the past two days a greater number of Kunduz journalists due to control of Taliban over the areas of their living and continue of fighting and insecurity could lead them to leave their places and reach to the provinces such as Kabul, Takhar, and Balk.

These journalists which most of them were working with local media of Kunduz city have updated news regarding their media stations.

According to the news, local media of Kunduz “Radio Cheragh”, “Radio Zohra”, local section of Khawar Television, Alhuda daily media and weekly which were working in Kunduz have occurred serious damages.

Ms. Malalai Yousefi director of Radio Cheragh says: on the second day of Taliban entering to Kunduz, they attacked on the building of Radio Zohra.

Ms. Yousefi said, the Taliban has destroyed the equipment of radio stations and looted them.

Ms. Najia Khudayar, the director of Radio Cheragh has the same story, she said: Taliban attacks lead to destroy all the equipment and tools which were prepared in the past long years for the radio Cheragh.

Ms. Khudayar adds: Our station building has also damaged and part of the equipment has stolen.

Shahbaz Sabir the director of Khawar Television also claims that the Taliban has also attacked on the Khawar Television building, beside they have destroyed the equipment of the station, and they have taken the broadcasting device with themselves.

According to Mr. Sabir, “the size of the damages occurred to our TV station is even bigger which we might not be able to start the activity of TV even if the security stabilizes back in Kunduz”.

Officials of Alhuda Weekly and Daily newspaper also have reported serious damages to their offices and equipment’s.

The Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union is in close contact with Kunduz local media officials, and announces that the investigation will soon begin on the media stations which has affected damages with the relevant institutions.

Union officials says, complains about serious damages which we have received shows the damages which has occurred to Kunduz local media stations are serious even after considering all aspects and supply cost to revise the activities on the media stations, it will take more time to re-establish the media station activities in Kunduz city to the status they had before the wars in Kunduz.

Prior to this, news about burning and destruction of other radio stations in Kunduz such as Radio Kayhan, Radio Shayesta, Radio Kunduz, Roshani Radio Television and Milli Radio Television are published.
