Endorsement of an Agreement between the Largest Cooperative Bodies

The National Labor Union of Afghanistan (NLUA) and Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU) signed a long term agreement of cooperation in a meeting held in NLU’s headquarters today. Possessing more than half of a decade of experience as well as 150,000 members, the NLUA is one of the largest and the most experienced cooperating body in Afghanistan and the ANJU, having a 35 years experience and 2,000 members is one of the largest and the most experienced cooperating body of journalism in Afghanistan.

As per the agreement which was signed by these two parties, it is due that the ANJU would be facilitating vocational trainings as well as holding workshops on public information and publicity and broadcasting skills for the related departments of NLUA and the NLUA would be cooperating with the ANJU in establishment of local and provincial offices. 

Meanwhile, both parties would be co-operating each other in raising their voices for the rights of cooperating bodies and journalists, especially those who are working for private sector and nowadays are deprived such as pensions, health insurance, job immunities, legal holidays and other same rights. 

The General Director of the ANJU, Abdul Majid Mubarez said in today’s meeting: “From onwards, we would be having the assistance and support of one of the biggest cooperating institutions of the country which will for sure lead us to reach our main goals and will seriously strengthen us.”

Insisting on the importance of cooperation of these two parties, the NLUA General Director Dr. Maroof Qaderi said: “Reporters and Afghan media have always conveyed the public voice to the government and international community and our cooperation with this institution will assist us to deliver Afghanistan’s labors petition louder and clearly to the related authorities more than ever.”

This agreement is being signed for a period of three years and both parties are hoping to extend this cooperation for longer years in future.
