Workshop on “Management and Economical
Monday December 8, 2014

A workshop under the “Management and Economical Stabilization of the Media” theme was inaugurated today in Kabul. This workshop is held by “Deutsche Welle Academy” with the cooperation of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU). This workshop is being attended by 15 managers and representatives of financial and administrative departments of media in Kabul and other provinces such as Khost, Paktia, Balkh, Herat, Bamyan, Baghlan, Parwan and Nengarhar.

It is due that this workshop would be continuing until the end of the current week. This year a same workshop was held in September (Sunbula) where many managers and representatives of media were trained. This workshop’s coordinator and Head of ANJU Secretariat, Sa’el Ghazi says: “The main aim behind holding such workshops and trainings is to assist the managers and directors of the Afghan media, so that they could manage their media outlets in critical situations and enhance their own financial self-sufficiency.”

Representatives from the Deutsche Welle Academy say that in spite of a lot of development in media in Afghanistan, financial crisis is still swiping most of these media outlets and they are struggling to present the modern world’s experiences to the managers and directors of Afghan media.”

Alongside the efforts being paid to reform and improve the of related media activities laws and defending the cooperative and professional rights of the journalists and the media, the ANJU has tried to facilitate the new knowledge of media to the Afghan journalists.
