Ateela Noori, Aryana TV News TV reporter was beaten up by an army commander when he was heading towards his home along with his family on Saturday afternoon. Noori says: “I was stuck in traffic and the National Army vehicle was in front of our car and when they wanted to receded their car, I horned so that any accident doesn’t happen and this caused the armies come down from their vehicle and then their commander and beat me up.

”According to Noori, however the commander knew me and had cooperated with him during military news coverage, but still he has abused him and has told him that you can complain to anyone you want.”

Condemning this action against a reporter, the authorities of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union say they will follow this case up with the Defense Ministry authorities and will ask them to rehabilitate to Mr. Noori. 

Sar e Pul province’s Journalists Union also has expressed the objection through a meeting today and asked the authorities of Sar e Pul province to seriously follow and assess this case.
