During the coverage of Presidential Election’s second round vote audit which is taking place in the Independent Elections Commission, at least three reporters were beaten up today. While taking pictures and films of revealed documents of fraud in elections, Fawad Noori and Zabihullah Doorandish, two reporter of Khorsheed TV and one cameraman from Rah e Farda TV were beaten up by the mentors of Change and Persistence team.
In a different accident a reporter was arrested by National Security Forces for half an hour and abused because of clicking pictures from the suicide attack took place in Alaudin-Kabul city.
Ehsan Ameri, “Wall Street Journal” paper journalist who was also banned to take pictures from the area of the accident was arrested and while abused, he was threatened by the National Security Forces too.
During the recent months, specially when the Presidential elections got to the second round, violence against reporters has increased in different areas of the country.
The supporting institutions of the journalists are condemning this violence and are attempting to prevent such violence and the elements behind this violence get under serious investigation.
The authorities of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union say they are in touch with the governmental resources, specially security institutions to prevent such cases.
