
Najeebullah Ulfat reporter of Naseem local radio in Bamyan province says that he has been disrespected and threatened by government officials.
According to Mr. Ulfat, two days ago during the launch of a road construction, when he tried to ask a question regarding the properties of people which are conflicting to this road construction, he has been disrespected and threatened by spokesmen of the governor.
Ulfat Says, Abdul Rahman Ahmadi spokesmen of Bamyan province says that I have two ask questions according to their choice otherwise I don’t have the right to ask questions.
According to Ulfat, he has been warned to not ask any other problematic questions again.
Number of other journalists claims that they are repeatedly abused and disrespected by the security guards of this province.
Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union says, these acts are against the law and freedom of expression.
Mr. Faheem Dashty Chief Executive of this Union says; we will contact with Ministry of Information and Culture, Directorate of local Governance and advisors of presidential palace in public relations to stop these kind of acts in future.
This union also announces that new cases of violence against journalists in Bamyan will be follow in coordination with judicial authorities.
