
Muhammad Nasir Mudaser the Editor of Radio ‘Paigham-e-Milli’ was martyred by unidentified gunmen in Muhammad-Agha district late today.
The officials of Logar province say that Mr. Nasir’s car was stopped by unidentified gunmen while he was returning from office, and he was assaulted by light weapons.
Radio ‘Paigham-i-Milli’ was established in 2003 by late Mr. Mudaser in Muhammad-Agha district of Logar province, and it is one of the most popular radio stations in that province.
The Police Head Quarter of Logar province has said to ANJU that the assailants were riding on a motorcycle but their identities have not been discovered yet. However, one of Radio Paigham-e-Milli’s employees who asked not to be named said that there were numerous direct and indirect threats by Taliban associates against Mr. Mudaser for months.
According to the Chief of Police Department of Logar province, the investigation to bring the perpetrators of this incident to justice has begun.
With Mr. Mudaser’s martyrdom, the number of journalists and media workers who lost their lives this year has reached 13.
