As a result of an operation conducted by security forces, the terrorists who attacked Shamshad TV station were killed.
This morning two terrorists assaulted the headquarters of Shamshad TV. One of the assailants were killed by the guards of Shamshad TV station and the other one was killed by security forces.
According to Nasim Pashton, the editor-in-chief of Shamshad TV, a technical worker and a guard of this TV station were injured, and one guard has been martyred.
The police officials of Kabul state that during today’s operation against these terrorists, a police officer has also been wounded and a number of Shamshad TV employees have been lightly injured as a result of fallen broken glasses or during climbing the walls while fleeing the site.
Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU), in a statement in this regards has called the attack on Shamshad TV as an attack on the freedom of expression itself.
Mr. Fahim Dashti, the director of ANJU states: “Shamshad TV has been under terrorist threats for long, but fortunately terrorists today did not succeed in their objective to massacre all the employees and workers of this TV station.”
