In a suicide attack which took place in front of Qasre Nawin wedding hall this afternoon, a reporter and a cameraman were injured.
The incident occurred at the end of a gathering in support of Ata Muhammad Noor the governor of Balkh province, while the participants were leaving the site.
Mr. Taqi Sadid a reporter and Hussein Nazari a cameraman for Rahefarda TV were injured in the incident. According to Rahefarda TV officials, their health condition is not alarming.
The officials of Afghanistan’s National Journalists Union (ANJU) pointing to the dangerous atmosphere of media activities in the country, state that journalists have given a great deal of sacrifices in the frontline of providing news and they are still falling victims of such circumstances.
Mr. Fahim Dashty the director of ANJU asserts: “Unfortunately, our colleagues once again fell victims of another terrorist attack; however we have faith on the existing commitment for providing news among media and such incidents would never avert them of performing their responsibilities.”
According to security officials, today’s terrorist attack took the lives of 13 people and injured 20 more.
