Khorshid TV reporters have been beaten up

Khorshid TV Officials said: “a reporter, a camera man and a driver of the TV have been beaten up by the Government officials." This incident occurred in front of the entrance door of Ministry of Information and culture.

According to the Khorshid TV reports, their team was crossing from the center of the City while a governmental vehicle blocked their way, and when the driver pushes the Horn to make them free the way, then the government officials gets out of their vehicle and beats our team driver.

The reporter and the camera man were also beaten up while they were trying to capture the incident. Mr. Latif Azizi, Khorshid TV reporter who was beaten up in this incident says: “We have filmed the vehicle number which the government officials came down and start fighting”.

It is said that the vehicle was belong to the presidential office. Presidential palace officials said “they don’t know whether these people were from their office or not” but they promised to investigate the case." The police officers present in the park e zarnegar check point confirms the incident but says they couldn't identify those who have beaten the reporters. The Journalist’s supportive institutions in a protest against this incident requests that the perpetrators of this case should be identified and brought to justice.

Muhammad Faheem Dashty, chief executive director of ANJU says: “Beaten up of the Journalists are not tolerable in any case and Since the number of the vehicle is identified so the responsible institutions can simply identify the perpetrators of the case". Afghanistan's National Journalists Union has also issued in its declaration , the inefficiency of the Ministry of Information and Culture in response to the incidents.
