End of “Journalists and Laws” training courses

A training program that was started by Afghanistan's National Journalists Union in Oct 2013 has ended on Sunday this week.

This training program have been held in Kabul, Nangarhar, Balkh, Khost and Herat provinces by financial cooperation of Polish Embassy in Kabul.

The Last sessions of this training course were held in Herat Province that nearly 30 Journalists of various Medias were participated.

During these training programs nearly 150 journalists including 30 female Journalists from different Medias have been trained.

Mohammad Faheem Dashty, chief executive of ANJU says: “Lack of Journalists knowledge about the Laws that sets up the framework of Media in the Country was the main point to have  these training programs”.

He included: while Mass Media Law, Copyright Law, Elections Law, Taxation Law, criminal Law , Crimes against internal and external interest Law and Constitution of Afghanistan are linked to Media activities in Afghanistan, Most Journalists believes that, only Mass Media Laws and Copyright Laws sets up the framework for their activities.

In last three months Afghanistan's National Journalists Union have held several training courses for Journalists in Kabul and other Provinces, which included prevention and treatment of tuberculosis, Broadcasting and coverage of Election, ethical and professional standards of Journalism etc.
